Steve Harpum
Steve is a highly experienced senior learning and development professional. He is passionate about talent development and helping people and organisations to develop their capabilities and fulfil their potential. He relishes the challenge of finding better ways of doing things, and believes in the power of the team and positive leadership to improve organisations and organisational performance.
Currently based in the UK, Steve has lived and worked throughout Europe, the Middle East and the USA and thoroughly enjoys working with, and is highly effective in, culturally diverse international teams.
Professional Experience
Steve brings over 30 year’s leadership and management experience, including more than 10 at the strategic level, in the Government and private sectors. He specialises in the development and delivery of truly transformational learning and development programmes, closely aligned to organisational and strategic aims, to help organisations achieve very high performance. Examples include the development and introduction of a major, globally-accessible, 24/7 blended learning programme, a corporate professional development programme including an executive Master’s degree and a skills upgrade programme in Saudi Arabia for over 4,000 people.
Steve has also developed and introduced a number of executive mentoring programmes, and now has an active and successful coaching and mentoring practice, helping senior managers and executives to rise to the challenge of professional and personal change.
He is a former very senior officer in the Royal Air Force and has been the Director of Learning and Development programmes and Board member in a number of organisations, including a variety of commercial appointments.
Qualifications and Accreditations
Steve gained his Master of Science degree in Management (with distinction) from the University of Westminster and a few years later a Master of Arts degree (also with distinction) from Kings College London, in Strategic Studies. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He has coaching and mentoring qualifications from both the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership and Management.

To meet the growing demand for internationally-recognised professional HR qualifications throughout the GCC, Steve has been developing and delivering CIPD level 3 and level 5 qualifications throughout the region for the last 4 years, achieving 100% positive feedback, and 98% pass rates.
GCC Oil & Gas Leadership & Management Development Programme
As part of a company-wide audit and verification exercise, Steve introduced and led a major leadership development programme for over 500 managers at all levels in a major GCC chemical processing company.
